As part of DUTCH DESIGN WEEK, the largest Dutch festival dedicated to the art of design, on 19 - 27.10.2024 there will be an exhibition of Polish design POLISH JOB 2.0 prepared by the Łódź Design Festival team. During the preparations for the Polish Job 2.0 exhibition, a review of almost 1,000 award-winning products in the must have plebiscite was conducted, from which 23 brands were selected. The invitation to participate in this exhibition is a great honor and distinction for us.
Polish Job 2.0 is a cross-sectional exhibition of projects and implementations representing the Polish design brand, its characteristics and uniqueness, prepared by Łódź Design Festival. The presentation is a pretext for analyzing the contemporary Polish market, a review of the most interesting products and an attempt to capture the criteria identifying the coherence of the brand. During the first edition of Polish Job during Milan Design Week in 2014, three interconnected threads were presented: locality, nostalgia and innovation, which characterize Polish design. The current perspective shows that Polish design, apart from drawing on regional motifs and resources, fun and processing patterns from the past or attempts to experiment and create new solutions, is also characterized by responsibility and resourcefulness. Polish designers increasingly often propose more effective or ethical solutions, minimizing the amount of waste or taking a creative approach to reusing existing resources during production. All five categories interpenetrate and combine in the projects and implementations selected for the exhibition. The collection will show contemporary Polish design thought, current trends, development of individual brands, evolution of products and the most promising directions of development of design in Poland. The collection selected for presentation perfectly reflects the contemporary nature of Polish design and the directions of its development, carrying the promise of continuous improvement and a fresh look at the dominant trends in international design, while at the same time combining tradition and guarantee of product quality.
